Ahmedabad bamboo craftman project leader:
"There is a huge variaty in quality of bamboo. We only use bamboo grown in the jungle, mass produced bamboo will not last many years before mushroom will attack."

Roof & floor

The roof is in a corrugated epoxy plastic covered bamboo. It offers protection from viewing in together w ith letting light in.
The floor consists of the same material as the roof - bamboo epoxy board.

Urine diversion squating pan

The urine diversion pan consists of three holes, two for faeces and one for urine plus anal cleansing. Toilet paper is normally not used but can go into the faeces container.

Sawdust & re-used flex material

Sawdust is used to dilute the faeces. We got consumption for many months from nearby wooden workshop for free. To cover the chinks of the panel from viewing in and increased private feeling we have used a flex material - a kind of thick textile plastic. The flex material is frequently used for printing advertisement posters. I was given old flex material posters from a print shop. Saved cost together with recycling.

Decoration of door

The door is decorated with traditional Indian door decoration, called as toran in Hindi, which goes all in blue colors. Blue is the thoroughgoing used color within the Ecoloove design and we decided to use it cause’ it’s considered to be a color synonymous with the cleanness in sanitation. The toran is compiled from textile design students.
