Feces and urine containers

The faeces are collected in a bucket which is placed under the cycle. A newspaper is used to lead the faeces safely into the bucket. The newspaper can be composted together with the faeces. This solution will worked for the tests but we´re product developing a future solution. The urine goes via a pipeline into the black urine container. The container is black for the water mixed with the urine to dehydrate. This process is helpful since it will increase the concentration of the urine together with keeping the volume down.

Urine diversion squating pan

The urine diversion pan consists of three holes, two for faeces and one for urine plus anal cleansing. Toilet paper is normally not used but can go into the faeces container.

Sawdust & re-used flex material

Sawdust is used to dilute the faeces. We got consumption for many months from nearby wooden workshop for free. To cover the chinks of the panel from viewing in and increased private feeling we have used a flex material - a kind of thick textile plastic. The flex material is frequently used for printing advertisement posters. I was given old flex material posters from a print shop. Saved cost together with recycling.
